He started by selling simple yet tasty homemade chevda (Bombay Mix), wafers, and chutney at the railway canteen owned by his father. His scrumptious items drew such a crowd that very soon his father had to open a new shop for him to expand his business. This young and enterprising lad was Rasikbhai Chotai, who laid the foundations of Rasikbhai Chevdawala in 1969.
Currently owned by Rasikbhai’s son Rajeshbhai and grandson Vivek, Rasikbhai Chevdawala offers high-quality products made with natural, wholesome ingredients. An increased demand for their farsan(snacks) has paved the way for a state-of-the-art facility with new and advanced machines. Their production today has gone up many times over to touch daily volumes of one ton.
Along with rising fortunes, Rasikbhai Chevdawala has also witnessed a rise in women empowerment. Playing a key role, women of the Chotai family today carry forward the company’s legacy by managing a majority of the company’s retail outlets.
