Journey of success A journey is not always predestined although a goal is vaguely in the mind. Such was the case when Royal Dry Fruits Pvt. Ltd. was established in the year 2000 as a Gourmet retail outlet- Store Royal Dry Fruits Pvt. Ltd., at Hill Road Bandra location. This initial venture catered to the requirements of high end customers. So huge was the success that by the year 2002, Royal Dry Fruits Pvt. Ltd. was equipped enough to start importing.
Propelling with Diversification Diversification was always on the cards and in the year 2005 with the launch of VIVA marketing, we introduced Distribution Company, a subsidiary of Royal Dry Fruits Pvt. Ltd.. Through VIVA, products were distributed to eminent clients like Dollar Shop, Hypercity Godrej’s Nature Basket, and other similar retail chains of equal lineage. Later on VIVA was merged in Royal Dry Fruits Pvt. Ltd.
Establishing Royal Dry Fruits Pvt. Ltd. With the view to make an impact in more key thrust areas of Mumbai, in 2005 Royal Dry Fruits Pvt. Ltd. started two additional retail stores in the happening areas of Juhu opposite Ramada Plaza and on the high streets of Lokhandwala. Interestingly, the name Royal Dry Fruits Pvt. Ltd. was established as a full fledged corporate banner in 2005 and along with other subsidiary companies, a private limited company belonging to the same management group- Royal Minimart which was established on Dec.2nd 2005 was merged into it.
Rostaa, the flagship brand The recent addition to Royal Dry Fruits Pvt. Ltd. is the introduction of Rostaa in 2011, the latest premier flagship brand of Royal Dry Fruits Pvt. Ltd. The start off was made first with dry fruits and then venturing into other products like peanut butter, olives etc. Dry fruits were preferred as the company management has a family background of being in this business for over 3 decades. More other introductions and novel items will be presented in the market in very near future under Rostaa.
Planning for expansion The new expansion process will be put into gear in the coming financial year by introducing at least 3 more retail shops under the canopy of Royal Dry Fruits Pvt. Ltd.. Also signing up of more franchise will be priority.
Profile of Mr. Sameer Lalani, MD, Royal Dry Fruits Pvt. Ltd. Starting very young has its own benefits as the success is accomplished very early in life. Mr. Sameer Lalani, the current Managing Director of the company too got engaged in entrepreneurship at the very young age of 22 years. Rostaa, the recent addition to the company profile is his brain child. He is the man who is behind the planning, marketing and execution of all the various company tasks. Belonging to a family who are in the business of dry fruits since last 3 decades, he has keen knowledge about these products and hence dry fruits were first chosen for marketing under Rostaa. A well travelled man and his is a multifaceted persona with expertise in importing, exporting, distribution and work execution.
